About Ballet Júnior da Madeira
Founded with a commitment to cultivating and celebrating dance on Madeira Island, Ballet Júnior da Madeira is dedicated to promoting local talent, culture, and the name Madeira throughout Portugal and beyond. Emerging from a small project initiated at the Escola de Dança do Funchal in 2014, the company has grown through strategic partnerships, establishing itself as a dynamic junior dance company that continues to shape and inspire young artists in its first two seasons.
Our Mission
Ballet Júnior da Madeira provides a bridge from the academic realm to a professional dance career, nurturing young dancers between the ages of 14 and 22. Through rigorous technical training and creative development, the company offers these young talents a diverse array of choreographic experiences, guided by prominent choreographers, dance teachers, and professional dancers. This inclusive environment fosters artistic growth, supports equal opportunities for dancers from different training backgrounds, and propels the art of dance on Madeira Island.
