Laurent Guilbaud, hailing from Clermont-Ferrand, France, is a distinguished dancer and répétiteur renowned for his extensive career in ballet. Trained at Paris Opéra Ballet School and the National Conservatory in Avignon, he has graced stages around the world, leaving his mark on prestigious national companies such as Stuttgart Ballet, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, and the Semperoper Ballet Dresden. Laurent's repertoire spans classical and contemporary works, featuring collaborations with renowned choreographers and the creation of roles in pieces by contemporary masters like Celis, Ratmansky, and Dawson.
In 2016, Laurent earned his teaching diploma in Paris, marking a transition to a new chapter in his career. As a guest teacher, he has shared his expertise at renowned institutions across Europe, including Theater Basel, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Ballet National de l’Opéra de Bordeaux. Now based in the UK as a Ballet Master with English National Ballet, we are thrilled to welcome Laurent to Jersey, where he will be working closely with the Ballet d’Jerri dancers.
We are delighted to offer a ballet masterclass led by Laurent, providing a unique opportunity for local advanced dance students to benefit from his wealth of experience and artistic insights.
