8. Dance and AI
2026
Choreographer Jack Philp envisions a groundbreaking new work that embraces the possibilities of AI and technology, celebrating them as part of our shared future rather than something separate or dystopian. Jack sees this project as a way to explore the "inevitability of the future" and to resist the idea that technological progress leaves humanity behind. Instead, he aims to create a dynamic, collaborative, and vibrant work that serves as a blueprint for a world where technology and humanity coexist harmoniously. The piece will be a celebration of speed, color, fluidity, and environmental awareness, embracing the intersection of innovation and the human body.
The project is envisioned for the stage, potentially aligning with plans for the Jersey Opera House, and will be accompanied by public engagement activities. Ballet d’Jèrri plans to bring in international experts to host talks for the local tech sector, creating a dialogue between creativity, technology, and the community.
